Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Hello Friends,

Following is a message from our supporter, well wisher and reader who is a Priest. He has mailed following message.

From what we understand, he has deciphered the work of clergy, cut out for them, by OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. It means, the clergy are supposed to look after the spiritual need of people.

No doubt, they are doing their job, but are also too busy with materialistic matters. The TRUST reposed into them by OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, has been converted as SOLE TRUSTEE, and being used to control Parish Properties and Finances, with no accountability. Most of the parishes are embroiled into Financial and Property mismanagements. Parish Priests have been selling Church Properties at their whim. SILENT VOICE has brought into public domain many such matters, and will continue to do so, with your support.

VOICEMAIL is also mailed to number of priests, Bishops and Cardinal. It would be interesting to note their reaction. Will they respond? We doubt very much.

A letter in the EXAMINER of 18th, August, 2012, exposes the so-called secular organization, supposed to be championing the cause of Catholics.

The mission and Message of the Gospel:

The mission Jesus entrusted to us according to the Bible in Mark 16:15”Go into the world and preach the good news [Gospel] to all creation”; which means, we must preach the message of Jesus, to all our Indian brothers and sisters.

Unfortunately we are busy just doing the social work in the name of religious work and we have forgotten or we are ignoring the command of Jesus to preach the Gospel.

Today it is become a fashion or passion to call social work as religious work for example….

1] Catholic religious run the school, earn money, educating the other religion people and they call it a religious work. Priests and Nuns are principles of the schools, earning the salaries just like lay people and royally call it a religious work. Whereas Hindus and other religions and even lay Catholics run the school and that is called as social work. How can the religious when they are doing the social work call it a religious work? The religious work is to preach the Gospel otherwise how our Indian brothers and sisters will know the good news of Jesus. Till today and even in future the situation will remain the same if we Catholics religious and lay will continue to do the social work in the name of religious work and not preaching the Gospel.

Romans10; 14-15: How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

2] Catholic institutions are running the orphanages and calling it as religious work, whereas our lay Catholics, other religion people run the orphanages and call it social work. Why the religious if they are doing the social work should stay in the religious institutions and remain priests and nuns and do the social work and call it a religious work; Because, the command of Jesus is clearly, to preach the Gospel, to all people of God. Either they should get out of the religious institutions or call it a social work and separate the institutions from religious identity.

3] Catholic religious institutions are running the Hospitals, earning money, nuns becoming doctors, nurses earning money for the congregation and call it a religious work or so called work of God, it is absolutely wrong. Because our lay Catholics and people of other religions are doctors, nurses, running the hospitals and they call it a social work. Then, why should the catholic church, religious institutions call it a religious work? Because the command of Jesus is very clear,” Go and preach the good news to all people.

4]The Bishops, priests and nuns in India are  becoming lawyers, social workers[Bsw, Msw],many other social academic degrees’, earning PhD on Tukaram and Dyaneshawar, Sanskrit language and boast about and call it a catholic religious work. Why should they call it a religious work? Instead they should be studying the Bible and go and preach to all people the Gospel.

5] In India we are naturally and normally living and interacting with the people of all religions peacefully like brothers and sisters, then why we are using these foreign terms like interreligious dialogue, as if we are foreigners in India .The term Interreligious dialogue is  European language and it is not at all needed in India. Instead it is the command of Jesus and our prime duty to preach the Good news, the Gospel to all people in India. But we are busy with the social work and call it a religious work.

6] Acts 6: is very clear, when the social work was increasing: Acts6:2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said,” It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to do the social work.3-Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them, 4 and will give our attention to prayer and ministry of the word.”

We have forgotten about this message and for hundreds of years taken up the social work in the name of religious work and the literal message of Jesus of spreading and preaching the Gospel to all people is neglected.

The laity commission meeting in Delhi; the topic of Acts 6came up very strongly that the religious should pronounce-let us not neglect the ministry of the word, turn the responsibility to the Spirit filled and people with Godly wisdom, and we will give our attention to prayer and ministry of the Word of God.

7] When people put up wrong articles and scenes in the magazines and films instead of fighting with them, file the court cases, organizing protests we must examine ourselves and know that they do not know the message of the Gospel and we need to preach to them the good news. I am 100% sure if they know the good news of the Gospel they will never do such things. They know only about the social activities of the Catholics and what they see they publish it. Here Romans 10:14, is very clear: How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

As I love the Catholic Church and pray for the spread of the Kingdom of God specially in India, as I pray for our Bishops, priests, nuns and brothers and sisters, the message  and command of Jesus and the Twelve is very clear ,’ we will give our attention to prayer and ministry of the Word of God. And preach the Gospel to all our Indian brothers and sisters who do not know it and who are hungry and thirsty to know about Jesus.John3:16-God so loved the world….. [We think only Catholicsand we call others outsiders or unbelievers, but we need to follow Romans10:14]John1:29-Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world[we think of only Catholics]Here the world of God is very clear that Jesus came for all people in the world and it is the need of the hour to preach the Good news, the Gospel[not religion, we are mistakenly preaching the religion which is not the command of Jesus and naturally the people are not interested and hungry for the religion, but they are thirsty for the Gospel message].To this day people who preach religion are failed because that is not the command of the Gospel. The Twelve apostles preached the Gospel and appointed the disciples who preached the Gospel and we have received the message.

Dear brothers and sisters today we need to preach the Gospel to all people[no morchas, protests, fasts , social work, there are enough people to do this],we preach only the Gospel message and the Indian people will be blessed  and in turn God will bless us with Health and Healing, Peace and Prosperity[Jer33:6,9].

Protest at the Cross by CSF

Sir, this is with regards to a so-called protest at the Cross Maidan, on August 3, 2012, which incidentally was the First Friday of the month, organized by Catholic secular Forum, with the stated intention of Solidarity with the Clergy.

The CSF sent an SMS on the following day, Saturday, August 4, that the protest at the Cross on Friday, August 3, was a success.

The congregation present at that service was for regular first Friday Mass, at the Cross, which is always well attended by devotees. At no point was anyone present for the protest whatsoever. By inviting the press and informing them that there is Protest Mass, etc, they have misled the press, Faithful and the general public.

A year and a half ago, in the guise of protesting against the demolition of Crosses across the City by BMC, CSF and other organizations had misusedthe same venue – Cross, to abuse and run down the Clergy and the Hierarchy which I was witness to. All in the presence of priests and Bishops, so much for their solidarity with the Clergy!

We also strongly protest their usage of the words like Protest Mass, by which they are sending a wrong message to the non-Catholics and faithful.

Hello brother Denis Khan, you say that the PPC has unlimited de facto powers. Our new parish priest says, ” the PPC is only a consulting body and the ultimate decision regarding any issue lies with the parish priest and acts accordingly.” What should the ppc members or the parishoners do in such cases?

Please pursue the issue SV had taken up re alleged irregular transfer of OLGC PP; have the orders been revoked? What is the opinion of approx.3500 Parishioners? What is the PPC verdict on this alleged irregularity? How many parishioners sup
port alleged irregularities of PPC elections/functioning? This will be a real tribute to your dedicated efforts. Also please investigate as to why PPCs maintain a clamorous silence on property issues. As parishioners, they are ipso facto custodians of church property. Being elected to PPC does not relieve them of this responsibility.

    Dear one and all,
This is in regards to the Powers of the PPC. Please note that this same issue had come up in our Parish council with the zonal Bishop, he had clearly said that on any point/issue if the majority of the parish council members want something to be done in the parish then the decision of the parish council is binding on the parish priest.
