Pilar Fathers have released a Konkani film in Goa dealing with the crisis of faith in marginalised people living in riot-torn Gujarat.

Produced by Frs. Lucas Rodrigues, Francis Rosario and Peter Soares, the film titled ‘Mhaka Zabab Zai’, was released at the Pilar church on Thursday.

Fr Lucas, in his latest film, seeks to delve into the mindscape of people driven to such a moment of faith-crisis when everything seems to go wrong and God ‘fails’ to help.

The story revolves around two families inundated with a torrent of difficulties and a cascade of mishaps.

The missionary priest attempting to bring hope to the marginalised people of a riot-torn society and alleviate their suffering is himself caught with problems in his own family.

The film was released by Fr Frederick Rodrigues and Fr Hilario Fernandes in the presence of other dignatories.

In aid of the Pilar Missions, the film is a thought provoking Konkani drama, featuring stalwarts of Konkani stage from Goa and UK including Antonette De Calangute, Olga, Meryl Rodriques, Anil Pednekar, Antush D’Silva, Mark Araujo, Comedian Ben, Comedian Lepu, John Silva, Simon Gonsalves and Fathers Francis Rosario and Lucas Rodriques.
